Barron County Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

Meeting is Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Cabin Coffee 7:00 AM.

This week Sheldon hosts and we will have a report out from the visioning activity that was held last month.  We will also have our social gathering in the evening at 5:00 pm at the Elks Club and then Joe and Julie Ericksons place with our Argentina Friends.  Tentative Schedule includes:

Thurs. June 4 - Arrival, Tour Kusilik Farms, Stella Jones, and then Dinner at Elks Club followed by drinks and Joe and Julie Ericksons.

Fri. June 5 - Tour Aqua Garden, RL Weighing Systems, Lunch/tour at Reindeer Hill/6Four Accord, Dinner Lehmans - let Jason know if you plan to attend ($50 pp charge - spouses/significant others welcome).

Sat. June 6 - Optional Dairy Breakfast, Hayward (Lumberjack Show, Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame visit, Wild Game Dinner)

Sun. June 7 - Leaving 10:00 am

Last week we reviewed information from the board meeting that was held on May 19th (for both May and June).  Financially we are sitting in a good spot.  Board recommended $1000 to cover meals for our Argentina visitors during the friendship exchange. We approved $1000 (motion made by Trudy, seconded by Ken P.).  Joe attended the board meeting and indicated it was really informative - ALL members are always welcome to attend either in person or via zoom link.

We need to do a checkbook audit - Joe and Jason have agreed and would like one other member to help out.

We need to finalize officers for the next year.  Jason is president.  Kathy agreed to do treasurer again and Trudy agreed to continue as secretary.  We need coverage for Membership and Foundation - this is a great way to get started on being more involved in Rotary - please let Jason know.  We will also be looking for a president for Rotary year 27/28.  Jason is willing to co-pres if someone will step up for a two year committment (first year co with Jason, second year on own).

Also discussed our AOS - which we haven't done since January.  This typically brings in about $1000 each year.  We are looking to combine the AOS/greeting activities with the two members who are scheduled for the social activity.  This can be shared between the two.  This will start this month - June.

Last items - this is our 30th Anniversary for Sunrise Rotary - would like to do something - if you want to help out you can join Jason, Monika and Clare for planning. Clare will also be doing a time line - so share any info that you want to share.  We also agreed that we should do an annual meeting that includes the Sunrise Rotary group with our two companion groups.  More to come on this.  And we need someone to help get the Crutches for Africa donations to the Stillwater area on June 7th.
