Reminder - Meeting, Thursday, May 16 - 7:00 AM at THE RICE LAKE CURLING CLUB

This week Jason S. hosts - and we will have Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald attending to give us an update on what is happening in the Barron Co. area.  Remember this meeting is going to be held at the Rice Lake Curling Club.  The Club Image group has made arrangements for us to try out this as a possible future venue.  Same time - 7:00 AM.  New Place just for this week.  We will look forward to membership feedback on this arrangement.

Last week Kathy R. hosted Dana Nelson from St. Vincent de Paul Society.  She gave us an overview of the organization and an update on what is happening with our area's St. Vincent de Paul society.  Really good info - all proceeds from the St. Vincent Thrift store stay in Barron Co. for the St. VdP Food Shelf and Paul's Pantry (which provides free meals 4 days per week).  There is an opportunity for our club membership to provide volunteer support to cook one of these meals.  Would love for a member to step up and organize a date for us to do so.  Please see Kathy R., Trudy or Monika if  you are interested in coordinating this for us and we can get you the contact info.

From the District:
This has been a fast year. These last few weeks are the fastest. In this email, there are two topics.
1.   Close-out checklist:
  • Review goals, mark accomplishments, celebrate, tell your story on your webpage or FB or newsletter, or local newspaper or to partners.
  • Decide on your action plan for 2024-2025.
  • Input 2024-2025 club executives
  • Input goals
  • Complete the attached survey if you forgot to earlier.  Now is the time. Even if you did only one thing, submit it, please.
  • Let me know if you have done or have planned a Lithium-ion battery recycling event. I have 7 clubs listed, so far.

2.  May is one of my favorite months because the focus is on Youth Services.
As you are planning for next year, please consider adding a youth service project.

I hope you realize the impact your projects are making on the lives of members, local and global neighbors.
