Reminder, NO Rotary Meeting, Thursday, Sept. 28
Sending you a reminder that we do not have our meeting this Thursday, Sept. 28th It will be our second social event - meeting at Perlick's Distillery, W5150 Cty Hwy B, Sarona. Perlicks will be open from 3:00pm - 7:00 pm. It is an enjoyable place to go out in the country side. I am sorry I will not be able to attend.
This past week we discussed a number of things:
District 5960 is going to DACdb (versus Club Runner) for their events. Our club is staying with Club Runner for the next 6 mo. for sure (we just paid our service agreement). After that we will re-evaluate how DACdb is functioning and determine our next steps. There are current events that are out there right now for Rotary (i.e. One Summit) which is having some difficulty with registrations. If you are going to attend - at this time, register as a guest.
We got our tickets and posters for our biggest fund-raiser - Rose Sales! I will bring materials to our next regular meeting on October 5 - but if you want to get started, you can also get a book of tickets at RL Lamperts - Darryls office. Rose Day is Thursday, Oct. 26. And roses will be $25 per dozen (with a $5 coupon for Adventures/Lehmans). Everyone delivers their own or the recipients can pick them up at the mall on the 26th. We will talk more on our meeting and plans for that day as we get closer to that time.
The RL Bowls Event is scheduled for Oct. 26 as well. This is the big fundraiser for the RL BackPack program for elementary-high school kids. We will be looking at the needs throughout the county for similar programs and will donate to all once we have that determined.
Had an interesting discussion lead by Mark B. on potentially having a Washburn Co. or Shell Lake Area companion club. Looks like an interesting and flexible option to expand our membership base. Watch for more info!!
We are still in search mode for someone willing to step up and serve in the role of President in the next Rotary year (July, 24 - June 25). The club supports an incoming president going to the international conference....if you have an interest it will be in Singapor! There is a lot of reat internal support as well - we have plenty of people to lead the meetings if you are not able to attend, I will continue to help with communication, and Rotary itself has some great information and resources. The is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills and help our club continue supporting projects throughout Barron Co. Please seriously consider being more involved - we need YOU!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Can Am Bon Spiel Committees are set. They will be looking for help during the event on Feb. 1, 2, and 3, 2024 Sign up sheets will be coming soon.
Ruby's Pantry - December 16
Salvation Army Bell Ringing - will start in November. If you have any preferential times/places please let me know so I can schedule.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The district is continuing their conversion from Club Runner to a new platform called DACdb. This has caused some issues with registration for the One Summit event. Everyone should have received an email from Glenn Bowers on how to navigate this issue. Our club is continuing with Club Runner for the next 6 months until we know that issues are worked out with the new platform....we will keep you posted in that regard.
