After looking at the weather reports and projections, we have decided to cancel tomorrow mornings meeting. We will meet again next Thursday, December 22 at Stevies at 7:00 AM
A big reminder though for those of you who signed up to help with Ruby's Pantry - we will be meeting at Living Water Church at 7:00 am. Remember to park across the street in the funeral home parking lot and dress for the weather - its going to be chilly!
We have bell ringers next week as well - you should receive a reminder email from Salvation Army giving you your location and information. Thanks to all who are ringing - whether set up through me or on your own. It is much appreciated!

- RUBY'S PANTRY - Volunteer Opportunity on SATURDAY, Dec. 17 at 7:00 AM. We will meet at the Ruby's Pantry Delivery location at The Living Water's Church in Cameron (on the east side of Hwy SS 2 blocks before the lights). You will need to park across SS in the Funeral Home parking lot. Dress for working outside. Please let Don know if you can attend. Would like as many as possible to join in! Thanks Don for coordinating.
- Hat/Mitten Donation - If you didn't get a chance to - please bring your hats/mittens to our next meeting. I am sure Clare can still use them for the Free Clinic distribution.
- Food Pantry Donation - We did agree as a club to donate $500 to the county food pantries. We will be making our donations at the beginning of January.
- Valentines Raffle - Tickets are being printed and hopefully we can get them by the 22nd so we can hit up all those relatives during the holidays!
- Membership Information Meeting - Jan. 19 - start putting together your list of invitees!! Another activity everyone should do is to review the link below for information on how one club was able to increase their membership and keep their current members as well. Growing Membership via Service – If you haven’t heard Alex Johnson speak, you have missed out. The district membership team had him at their monthly meeting in November and he was once again fantastic. You missed it???? That’s a shame. However, you have two more opportunities. You can
click here and see the tape session. Or you can sign up for the Tri-District Conference and see him live and in person at Madden’s Resort. Registration for the event should be up and running within 1-2 weeks.
The purpose of our membership meeting is to invite those interested in learning about Rotary. It is an opportunity to showcase what we are all about and increase our membership.
To help with recruitment, we are offering a provisional membership for 3 months (lower cost) so potential members can check us out before committing to a full membership. Please continue to reach out to the people Don Drost helped us to identify and any others you think might be interested.

MUST READS/TO DOS
1. Succession –This stays in the Newsletter until every club has a PE named. Let’s see how quickly this can go away. The key to a successful program, organization, action is succession planning. Cool how “success” is the root of both words. If your club has not yet named a president for 2023-24, make this a priority. The more training the PE (president elect) gets, the easier their year. The more they work by your side now, the easier their year (and yours). The next short, sweet, and sensational training for PEs immediately following the mid-term. January 7th – it will be a working lunch and your PE will be out to still enjoy the afternoon. There are currently clubs without a PE listed in Rotary Central. Getting going, you don’t want to be the last one.
2. Register for Mid-term – If you haven’t done this already, get going. It’s time. Click the button. It will be fact and fun filled. You don’t want to miss out. Please encourage your club members to attend as well. Cost? It’s free. Nothing better than that.
3. Pass on your Goals – The next PE training is all about setting goals. Your PE will be setting their 2023-24 goals on Jan 7th. To do this, they need to know what your goals were for membership and foundation. What you say? I was supposed to have goals? CRAZY. Like everything thing else in life, the key is to keep turning the wheel and getting a little bit better every year. So yes, Patricia McCleese the current DGE is turning the wheel and making sure that clubs have goals actually listed in Rotary Central. So please pass on your current goals to your PE prior to the mid-term. Why wait? Send them an email with the info right now.
4. Tri-District Conference Rooms at Maddens – Here is the info for you and your members. Please read carefully and pass on the info. -Deadline for all rooms is April 1st, 2023. Madden's agrees to hold 10 rooms (2 night stay required) in a rolling room block. We have 5 at $149+ (located in the Golf Villas) & 5 at $160+ located lakeside. Rooms will continue to added to this block as reservations are made by your guests, based on the resort's availability. We will be getting a link this week to place on the website/or distribute to attendees. There will be a note on the link stating one night stays will not be accepted online. One night stays will ONLY be accepted by contacting the resort directly at 800-642-5363. There are 12 rooms in the block currently located in the Mission Point area of the resort. These 2 buildings are being opened up early just for our group to accommodate the 1 night stay requests. Anyone that will need a one night stay should contact the resort sooner than later. Rooms not guaranteed with a deposit will be released back to general resort inventory April 2nd, 2023.

district office of your club in action. That includes having fun. If you include the Rotary logo please make sure it is up to date. Feel free to add a sentence or caption about the photo.

1. Deano Pape - Deano Pape is president of Austin Rotary and has a talk that he is happy to deliver to area Rotary clubs called The 100 Hour Day: Welcome to Your Cell phone. He does an exercise with the audience that measures their technology consumption and discusses the effects of our social media and cellphone engagement. He also tailors his talk to specific requests, such as effects on our personal relationships, productivity in the workplace, education, political polarization, and/or post-lockdown uses of technology and where we go from here. 2. Annie Nolte-Henning - Annie is Director of the Americas for Alight (previously the American Refugee Committee) - she is knowledgeable and inspiring. If she can't come and talk, she has a staff that can. Very cool. Give her a ring 402.297.2368
3. Bill Goodwin - This one comes to use via our own Kathy Hughitt. She has heard Bill speak on leadership but states that he is capable of speaking on multiple topics. Kathy says he is very engaging. Bill is also one of our Lakeville Rotarian.
