REMINDER Meeting This Thursday Feb. 6th    Stevies Cafe - 7:00 AM

Reminder that we have our meeting this week.  It will be a business meeting as the Club Board Meeting is tomorrow - 7:00 am at Johnson Bank.  BIG REMINDER TO SELL AND TURN IN YOUR RAFFLE TICKETS!! This is our last week - if you cannot sell them - please bring to the meeting on Thursday so we can get them sold before Feb. 13th.  Remember all the proceeds go to the Barron Co. Food Banks.

Last week we had a Club Assembly (it was our 5th week of the month).  We had a good review of the Rotary Midterms from Jason and Mark.  Some good information and resources on membership and club identity/health.

We also had our work groups touch base and provide a brief review.  The groups are:

Local/International Projects:  Dean, Kathy, Anna, Ken and Clare
Club Indentity/Club Health:  Jim, Joe, Don, and Mike
Public Image: Trudy, BJ, Monika, Tyler, and Jason
Membership:  Jeremy, Cathy and Mark.

Lots of discussion on membership and having a membership "day" where we invite potential members and have an interesting speaker and a short blurb on Rotary.  The board will discuss this more - we are potentially looking at a date in March or April.  Also discussed doing a "Business after 5" model of a meeting in another community - most interest in Cumberland at this time.

Additional discussion on Public Image.  Tyler agreed to help with the Facebook and Webpage.  Will look at Facebook first. Watch for more info - and if you get a chance - look at your MyRotary account, as well as our website:

 Here is the link: https://barroncorotary.com/

Reminder that we want people to really work hard to get a speaker for their week or coordinate a social activity. If you cannot find one be sure to let the club know.  We have resources!

OTHER BUSINESS:

We are still looking for a new Treasurer starting in July 2025.  Kathy will be retiring and won't have the same technology availability. If you are interested please let her or any board member know now - you can get a LOT of training in ahead of time.

Announcements:
February is the month we celebrate love!  And we can’t think of a better way to do that than to “Share The Love” we have for the good work of Rotary by supporting our RI Foundation which funds most of that good work.

The more we give the more impact we can have in our communities and around the world.  This year we have a challenging but achievable goal of raising $500,000 in our District for the Annual Fund – SHARE.  We are currently at $244,000 so let’s PUSH now to make this happen! Our foundation is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world, with 15 consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator and an A-plus rating from CharityWatch.

Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects.
With your help, the magic of the Foundation can continue.  A gift to the Foundation’s Annual Fund – SHARE will result in almost half returning to our District to fund projects organized and led by our District 5960 clubs.  Last year, over $227,000 was provided in the form of grants to support club projects in our district.

To encourage giving during February, matching point incentives will be offered toward receipt of a Paul Harris Fellow awards:
  • $100 - $364 = 1 to 1 recognition point match
  • $365 = 635 Points match to Paul Harris Fellow (PHF)
  • Sign up for Rotary Direct with a minimum donation of $30 per month and receive 500 points
Below is a link that will take you directly to the RI website’s donation page.  If you have not already set up a “My Rotary” account, please do that first.  Going through “My Rotary” ensures that you and your club will be properly credited for your contribution.  Contributions of any size will help us reach our goal!
