REMINDER - MEETING THIS WEEK! Thursday morning, April 2, 7:00 am Cabin Coffee.
We will have our morning meeting on Thursday, 4/2. Jim S. hosts and we will have a review of our board meeting discussion. Many Rotarians will be gone to the Scotland Curling Tournament . We wish Jason, Bill, Don, Bruce, and Dean the very best for good competition and safe travels on their trip to Scotland.
Last week Jason hosted and our guest was Hannah Ritsch, Philanthropy Officer with Marshfield Clinic. She did a great job reviewing the merger with Marshfield and Sanford. Where things were standing now with defined areas of service and which services were offered. She also talked about the Foundation arm of the organization and what medical item they were looking to raise money to purchase.
Some Board Meeting Highlights:
We are in a good position financially. Looking at our future budgeting process to include stronger budgeted support for individuals to attend our district conferences and events. (We DO cover training for president at PELS).
Discussed a variety of ways to go forward in supporting the foundation, our areas of club support (membership, public image, fundraising, and club health).
The NEGU event was a huge success. Great involvement with 90+ volunteers and financial support from over 13 Rotary Clubs, combined with the power of the Rotary Foundation. We also had a great social event following the Joy Jar activity.
A couple of reminders:
Visioning excercise will happen end of April - still working on dates with the district.
Still collecting for Crutches for Africa - any mobility related items can be given/brought to our meetings throughout May or taken to Tyler at his business. Will be shipping to Africa the end of May.
Joe Erickson and his wife Julie will be going on a Rotary Group Friendship Exchange this spring to Buenos Aries. At the end of May, a group from Beunos Aries will be coming here - Rotary is looking for a few host families for the days of May 29,20, and 31.
May 4 is tentatively our Cameron Event - watch for more information.
May 14-22 we will have representatives from the Czech Republic visiting our community. We are looking for hosts for this visit. Please contact Kathy R. or Deb Neuheisel if you are interested.
Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:
REMINDER - No Meeting This Week Wed. April 1..no fooling!
No meeting this week! We had a busy week last week with our daffodil delivery on Thursday. It was perfect timing for a burst of spring on a wintery day! Thank you to all the Rotarians who bought flowers, we are thinking this will be an annual event . Several members and family members were able to help pack Joy Jars on Friday afternoon and it was such a rewarding experience! Definitely hope our club can be involved with this again. Kevin Jacobsen discussed the Sleep in Heavenly Peace project and our club is excited to make this type of resource available for our community. Our next meeting will be April 8, Harvest Grill. Happy Easter!
Our club visioning exercise will be rescheduled for the month of April. Watch for more info.
