Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - No Meeting this week - Happy Thanksgiving!

Last week we had a delightful evening meeting at Lehman's.  We had about 15 people in attendance.  We inducted three new members:  Chris Fitzgerald, Sheldon Johnson, and Bruce Smith.  We also were able to honor our very own Jim Stoll with a Paul Harris +7 and a Legacy recognition.  It was pretty special and good to have him join us at the meeting.

A couple of other things we covered;  Monday, Nov. 24 we are serving at St. Vinnies - we have Clare, Monika and guest Deb working on first shift, and Trudy, KathyR and Ken on second shift.  We can still use help if you want to join us.  No meeting on Thursday!  The following week we have our board meeting on Dec. 2 at Johnson Bank and our regular meeting on Dec. 4 at Cabin Coffee at 7AM.

A couple of other reminders:

1) We will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Monday, Dec.29th.  (You are also welcome to help out on the 22nd if you have the time.) Please put it on your calendar!  Our next Ruby's Pantry Support is Saturday, Dec. 20th.   We are also looking for bell ringers!! Let me know your time/date preferences.

2)  NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We have exceeded our goal of $16,000 and now shooting for $20,000.  Hoping to make it so we can pack more jars.

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting this Week  7 AM  Peter and Annies - all are welcome!

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club update for the week of 11/24
Happy Thanksgiving!! And Happy and safe deer hunting!  We completed our clothing drive for elementary kiddos so that they have clothes to wear in case they are in need of changing clothes or warmer clothes this time of year.  Thanks to the community we were able to drop off several trunkloads.  We also received a $100 Kwik Trip gift card we had applied for for the hygiene drive, however since the community was so generous we are going to donate the card to the NOW (food backpacks) program.  At our last meeting, one of our members brought up the opportunity to mail gifts to active duty military stationed in Kuwait (her sister is serving there), so we were able to select lists the soldiers created and will be bringing the gifts to our next meeting.  We had members of the Boys and Girls Club (Lori Zahrbock and Josh Johnson) discuss the opportunities for our club to partner with them for the Taste of Cumberland event in June each year.  We are excited about this opportunity.

We meet this Wednesday, 11/26 at 7am at Peter and Annie's, feel free to join us.

PS  One of the fun things that happened at our last meeting, was one of our members was visiting her in-laws in Oregon and she was able to attend a Rotary meeting with her father-in-law the same day as our meeting, and the club gave her a flag:)    From Lisa
