ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Duke Thurs, via Joe, mentioned that the Shriners are no longer able to get enough volunteers for their Vidalia Onion sale. He wondered if BCSR would like to partner with the project. They sell 10-pound bags for $12, usually by pre-sales with pickup in the Chamber parking lot. There was favorable discussion about the project, so Joe will get further information.

We received an invoice of $1251.00 for 180 bicycle helmets for the Safety Fair in May. We can choose to pay the invoice or solicit donations. In the past, other service clubs such as the Men's Club have made donations. It was suggested that we ask the RL Rotary to partner with our club in purchasing the helmets and adding a Rotary sticker to them.

Put Thursday, September 25th on your calendar for the Bourbon Tasting event! Dean will continue to update the club with planning details.

Mark Berger shared menu possibilities with the Cinco de Mayo committee. He thinks three servers from Casa Mexicana will attend in sombreros. Start thinking of people, especially potential members, you'd like to invite to attend!

Ana and BJ planned to attend Rotary grant eligibility meetings. There were 3 opportunities to attend electronically. If anyone else attended, please inform BJ and Jason.

There are 5 members so far planning to attend the District Make Peace Visible conference May 1-3. ( https://makepeacevisible.org ) If our members help package meals with The Outreach Program, it can be counted as an international project. These meals will be sent to Tanzania. Our club could choose to purchase meals to donate to our local food banks.  Meals packed for domestic use include meals like mac & cheese, apple cinnamon oatmeal, and tomato-basil pasta sauce. One case of 218 packaged meals is $80.
