ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- BELL RINGING I have set up 4 shifts for us to Ring the Bells for the Salvation Army. They are:
Monday - Dec. 12 - 9:00-11:00 AM Marketplace North entrance
Wednesday - Dec. 14 9:00-11:00 AM Marketplace South entrance
Wednesday - Dec. 21 11:00- 1:00 PM Marketplace South entrance
Thursday - Dec. 22 3:00-5:00 PM Marketplace North entrance
Please look at your calendar to see if you can fill one of these times. If you cannot - OR - if you would like another time and/or location, please let me know as soon as possible so I can set it up for you. Thank you to Dean for setting up his staff at the Barron Location for ringing.
- RUBY'S PANTRY - Volunteer Opportunity on SATURDAY, Dec. 17 at 7:00 AM. We will meet at the Ruby's Pantry Delivery location at The Living Water's Church in Cameron (on the east side of Hwy SS 2 blocks before the lights). You will need to park across SS in the Funeral Home parking lot. Dress for working outside. Please let Don know if you can attend. Would like as many as possible to join in! Thanks Don for coordinating.
- Hat/Mitten Donation - If you didn't get a chance to - please bring your hats/mittens to the meeting. I am sure we can get them to Clare for the Free Clinic distribution.
- Food Pantry Donation - We did agree as a club to donate $500 to the county food pantries. We agreed to wait until after our Rose Sales to do this so we have enough in our activity fund. We will need to do this now. Leaving this in until we have made our donations.
- Membership Information Meeting - remember the date selected is Jan. 19 - start putting together your list of invitees!!
The purpose of this meeting is to invite those interested in learning about Rotary. It is an opportunity to showcase what we are all about and increase our membership.
To help with recruitment, we are offering a provisional membership for 3 months (lower cost) so potential members can check us out before committing to a full membership. Please continue to reach out to the people Don Drost helped us to identify and any others you think might be interested.
- ROSE SALES In case you missed it! We had another successful Rose Sales this year. Here are the details. Thank you everyone for your help and sales this year.
Rose Money brought in with sales 196 dozen = $3,920.00
Expenses (posters, tickets, and 1/4 cost of donated leftover roses) - $1,167.15
Total Profit = $2,752.85

Mass emails – I was not as productive last week as I thought I would be so there was only one mass email last week. The second will come out this week. The second is about our Searching for Service radio show/podcast – how to tune in, how to get in on the ground floor for advertising. Check it out. Sundays at 3pm and the podcast
2. Succession –This stays in the Newsletter until every club has a PE named. Let’s see how quickly this can go away. The key to a successful program, organization, action is succession planning. Cool how “success” is the root of both words. If your club has not yet named a president for 2023-24, make this a priority. The more training the PE (president elect) gets, the easier their year. The more they work by your side now, the easier their year (and yours). The next short, sweet, and sensational training for PEs immediately following the mid-term. January 7th – it will be a working lunch and your PE will be out to still enjoy the afternoon.
INTERESTING OPPORTUNITIES
1. See your Club in Lights – That’s correct your club could be featured on the district website. Please submit photos to the district office of your club in action. That includes having fun. If you include the Rotary logo please make sure it is up to date. Feel free to add a sentence or caption about the photo.
2.Growing Membership via Service – If you haven’t heard Alex Johnson speak, you have missed out. The district membership team had him at their monthly meeting in November and he was once again fantastic. You missed it???? That’s a shame. However, you have two more opportunities. You can click here and see the tape session. Or you can sign up for the Tri-District Conference and see him live and in person at Madden’s Resort. Registration for the event should be up and running within 1-2 weeks.
***NEW*** - Apr 27-29th – CAMP RYLA – registration is now open. It’s time to not only find but also to register local students (from your club whether it is in MN or WI). It is life changing for students as they realize their potential to lead and go back to their high schools ready to do just that. Check out the new website and register your students. CampRYLA.org
