Reminder - Meeting, Thursday, March 2 - 7:00 AM at Stevies Cafe!
Good Morning!
Reminding you we have a meeting this Thursday, 7:00 AM at Stevies. We will be having Craig Hokanson along with Todd and Kirsten Sandman coming to our meeting to share the unique Birkebiener experience this year. Hayward did not have snow (just like the rest of us) and yet they pulled off an international competition....come and hear all about it!
Last week we had representatives from the Food Banks attend so we can give them their donations and take pictures! All but 2 (Cumberland and Prairie Farm) are planning to attend. We also heard about the challenges and changes that our food banks are seeing in clientele. Very interesting (and yet sad). Thank you Kathy R for all your work in contacting each group.
BIG NEWS!! So I am including it again! We were also really excited to hear that BJ agreed to be our pres. elect taking over in July, followed by Jason, who will take the helm in July of 2025. It is not too soon to start thinking about 2026 people!! Very special thanks and appreciation to both BJ and Jason for stepping up for the well-being of our Club.

Dear all,
Greetings from Juba, South Sudan.
We are very excited to inform you that the books have finally arrived Juba,
on 29 January 2024. The containers have been received by UNESCO and
offloaded accordingly. A big thank you to all of you, NACC, the Rotary
Club, the Books for Africa and the DOD and all other partners and
individuals for the great partnership and joint efforts to making this book
donation project a success. This project has been indeed a great blessing
to the people of South Sudan.
We will share with the distribution and delivery note to the partners in
due course.
Thanks again for this wonderful partnership opportunity.

We had our board meeting last week. In attendance was Dean, Kathy R, Monika, Pres Elec. BJ, Pres Elec in waiting Jason and me. We discussed a number of topics - the vote item (for $150 donation) will be discussed this week.
Financial Report:
Adm. Account: $8773.36 (Dues are all current to date - great job everyone!)
Activ. Account: $6397.76
Reviewed that we did agree and pay for sponsoring a hole for Hunt Hill Golf Tournament.
Also, $700 for Northwood Tech (annual request came in). Have not yet heard from UWEC-BC.
Board did review a request to provide some support for the individual in Barron who sold 26 of our raffle tickets. The club did discuss providing some support for this gentleman as this is what he does and he helped our organization raise money. The board would recommend a $150 donation in supporting his utility expenses and then would pass the hat if anyone wanted to make an individual donation. We do NOT want to discuss this in detail as part of the meeting this week, there may be individuals with the food banks that know of him....and we would like to keep his name confidential. We would like to do a vote via email if we could so please contact Dean or Kathy or me and we will compile the votes. Or let us know if you have any concerns and we can address them and have further discussion at our March 14 meeting. Thanks!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Thanks to all of you who were able to participate in the NCPETS Learning Session at the Omni. Informal reactions from several of you have been positive, and I encourage each attendee to respond to the Survey Monkey sent or coming (not sure) to offer insights about how the Learning Opportunity can be improved for next year. Also, I strongly encourage all of you to budget for in-person participation next year (Feb 27 - March 1) and to select your 25/26 President this summer if you haven't already made the decision. Having that role solidified will make your job easier!
I hope those of you registered for the Virtual session this evening and tomorrow plug in and fully participate. Zoom can be a bit challenging, at least for me, to pay attention and to stay engaged. I'm confident that the format is conducive to participation and that you will form a bond with peers during the small group sessions. Be sure to get their contact information so that you can make connections in the future.
Our next and final structured shared learning opportunity is set for March 14th beginning at 5:30 PM (Registration Link) and expected to last for one hour. We will participate together in a time of sharing perspectives regarding Public Image challenges and victories, discuss recommended club leadership roles that you will want to have, help each other to navigate the 23/24 club awards submission opportunity and plan ahead for how you might make your own life easier next year at this time in that regard. Finally, we will share some 'open mike' time for you to share any fears or anxiety you might be feeling as your year quickly approaches. The goal of this whole package over the past three months is to help you feel confident and excited about your upcoming journey.
The calendar to set my visit to your club meeting, Board session, social event, fund-raiser, and/or service project is now open. Please contact me if you know how and when you want me to come to your community. Sue Boeve, my spouse and chief of staff, will begin making contacts next month if we haven't heard from you.
