Reminder - Meeting Thursday, June 6 - 7:00 AM Stevies Cafe

Good Morning - it's June and a wet start to the month as well.  Hope that is good for our farmers!  This week we have a Board Meeting tomorrow morning (Tuesday) at 7:00 am at Dennies Cafe on the north end of town (former Perkins).  On Thursday we will have our regular meeting.  Ana hosts and our speakers will be Candace Falk and Tim Lange(hopefully) to talk about Candace's trip to Guatemala; Guatamalan Literacy Project: Two Rotarians Journeys of Love and Service.  We will also have a board report and update from the Club ByLaws group.

Last week Jim hosted and we had a real nice presentation from Joel Clapero, Cemetary Director from the Northern WI Veterans Memorial Cemetary.  He shared information on the Veterans Cemetary located outside of Spooner, as well as the other Wisconsin Veterans Cemetaries and Veteran Health Care facilities.  Lots of great information - definitely worth a trip to visit the Spooner Location.  Thanks Jim for coordinating.....even though you bailed on your own program. (Trudy = $1)

Group supported the decision to put the updated Microsoft Office package on the Club Laptop so we can use the computer more effectively with all the documents being placed within it.

OLD BUSINESS:
Dean shared that the Bourbon Tasting event, the date under consideration was Thursday, Oct. 10.  It doesn't conflict with the Men's Club Wine Tasting week or any Packer Games.  It does however fall on the same night as the Boy Scouts Leadership Recognition Banquet. Group is looking at another date - we will hear more on this.

Ruby's Pantry - Saturday, June 15 - please mark it on your calendars so we can have a good showing of support from our club.

Reminder that there is an opportunity for our club membership to provide volunteer support to cook one of the meals for St. Vincent De Paul's Pauls Pantry (provided free meals M,T,TH, F each week).  Would love for a member to step up and organize a date for us to do so.  Please see Kathy R., Trudy or Monika if  you are interested in coordinating this for us and we can get you the contact info.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
  • Ruby's Pantry - Sat. June 15,  7:00 am
  • Cook a meal at St. Vincent de Paul's Pauls Pantry - date ?? Time committment would be 8am-1pm.  All meal supplies are provided.  Looking for someone who would be willing to lead coordination of this for our club.
