Reminder we began our trial on the new meeting system of two formal meetings per month and one social event. The social event will be planned by two club members as part of the meeting host rotation. Please be flexible and open minded - this is a trial. You will get information each week - you just need to read the bulletin ;-) and mark your calendars! Since the last quarter of the year was not a typical month, will continue trial of this process through the first quarter of 2025 with an evaluation at the end of March.

Around the District - November Ed Boeve
Welcome to November. Driving home in the snow from a Club visit this week was a clear reminder that winter is coming. The leaves in the backyard are an example of how much work there is to do before snow arrives to stay. Time to get busy!!
November is the month when we are encouraged to take time to be thankful and to say thank you for family, for our profession and colleagues, and for our friends. The Thanksgiving holiday gives us all a chance to acknowledge those people around us that make life full and fun. Make it a point this month to be present and to recognize those people.

November is also the month in the Rotary calendar when we celebrate the many good things we make happen through the Rotary Foundation. There is a focus this month on contributions to TRF. Offering incentives to achieve Paul Harris status, encouraging EREY, and other messaging give us reasons to give, but the real incentive this month is in the stories of the good things our Foundation allows us to do in the world. The efforts range from reading to kids and encouraging students to read in our own community to gathering crutches for people in Africa. Delivering clean water in communities around the world to picking up trash along the roadways in our hometown are examples of Rotarians making peace visible.
You are invited to come to our District Mid-Term Assembly of Clubs on January 18th to learn from Rotarian author Rick Kyte as he shares insights gained as he wrote his latest book entitled ‘Finding Your Third Place’. With Family as the First Place, Profession as the Second Place, Rick identifies a place where we gather with friends as our Third Place. Of course, your Rotary Club could be that Third Place! Hope all of you can join your Rotary friends on the 18th to celebrate and learn together.

November is Rotary Foundation Month.
November is the month that Rotarians around the world take time to celebrate the good work of our International Foundation, which is recognized as one of the most effective and well-managed charitable organizations in the world, with 15 consecutive four-star ratings from Charity Navigator and an A-plus rating from CharityWatch.
Since it was founded more than 100 years ago, the Foundation has spent more than $4 billion on life-changing, sustainable projects. With your help, the magic of the Foundation can continue. A gift to the Foundation’s Annual Fund – SHARE will result in almost half returning to our District to fund projects organized and led by our District 5960 clubs. Last year, over $227,000 was provided in the form of grants to support club projects in our district.
To encourage giving during November, matching point incentives will be offered toward receipt of a Paul Harris Fellow awards:
- $100 = 1 to 1 recognition point match
- $365 = Point match to Paul Harris Fellow (PHF)
- Sign up for Rotary Direct with a minimum donation of $30 per month and receive 500 points
