Reminder - Meeting, Thursday, May 2 - 7:00 AM at Stevies Cafe and our Cinco De Mayo celebration at 6:00 pm at the RL Curling Club!
This week Ken P. hosts - and we will discuss any outstanding business and provide an opportunity for you to drop off your donated bottle, if you cannot make the Cinco De Mayo celebration on Thursday night.
Last week we had some very good discussion on furthering our Membership process - look for an opportunity to help at a workshop to help finalize the update on our membership handbook and process.
We also reviewed updates on a couple of new fund raiser/activity functions we are looking at for this next year (Bourbon Tasting and a Polar Plunge). When a bit more information is finalized the groups working on them will bring them to the club for a final acceptance vote.
We had a request for Golf for a Cure - and had a motion and second to support $100 for this. We have typically done this in the past and everyone is supportive of this organization as all of the money stays in to support our county. (Motion made by Trudy, seconded by Ana, 100% support).
Mike VG and Heather Bonneville provided a presentation at the Noon Club meeting in support of the NEGU project (Never Ever Give Up - Joy Bucket construction). There appeared to be good support from noon club members and we shared the desire to do a joint project on this - so we will wait to see what more specific thoughts are from noon club members. We had good support with 5 of us in attendance.
Most current financial report -
Admin. $8754.75
Activity $1797.76

Also, if you would like to donate something for a silent auction or bag raffle that would be great. If you can RSVP (and haven't already) please let me, Monika or Kathy R know. Thanks!!

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
This World Immunization Week, we’re grateful to Rotary Foundation supporters like you who help keep communities healthy. We know that vaccines work. Rotary members around the world use them to fight vaccine-preventable diseases such as malaria, COVID-19, HPV, and hepatitis. And we have been using them successfully for decades in our work to end polio.
Rotary and our partners have reduced the number of polio cases worldwide by more than 99.9% since 1988, with Rotary clubs and members everywhere amplifying their efforts to create a polio-free world, one initiative at a time. The future of polio eradication is surveillance to detect the virus, and wastewater-based epidemiology will be a key tool in those monitoring efforts. Before we can celebrate the end of polio, we must remain vigilant and continue our work to immunize up to 400 million children each year.
The success Rotary members have achieved in preventing and treating disease would not be possible without our partners — or without donors like you, Trudy. During World Immunization Week, 24-30 April, you can support these efforts by:
With your support, we can continue to keep communities healthy and strong by preventing and treating diseases. Together, let’s continue the fight against disease this World Immunization Week.

Trivia Question: What does Cinco de Mayo actually celebrate?
SOURCE: INSTAGRAM
We celebrate it a lot more in the States than even the Mexicans of Puebla. Extra trivia points for you: Mexican Independence Day is celebrated on Sept. 16.
