REMINDER Meeting This Week (Dec. 12) 7:00 AM Stevies Cafe.

Reminding everyone we will have our next meeting on Thursday, Dec. 12th. Jason S. will be leading us and hosting.

The Board met on Tuesday, Dec. 3rd. Discussed final plans for Christmas Party on Dec. 18th (hoping everyone can make it)! Also talked about options in supporting the NEGU project (lead by Mike VG). BJ finalized our budget spreadsheets for a more consistent way of tracking our spending. Discussed options for where our Bourbon Tasting funds could be donated. Other items discussed:

Working: Louies Finer Meats for a specific project (NEGU?) Volunteering at Country Jam/Rock Fest.

REMINDER: We are collecting new hats/mittens for the Free Clinic. If you haven't already dropped some off at Tyler's workplace, Kilcoyne Memorial Services, 637 N. Main St. (Formerly Skinners) - bring them to our meeting this week!

Was able to fill two of our Ringing time frames. I cancelled the other two - if you still want to do it and want me to register you please give me a couple of dates/times that work best for you. Thank you to those of you who have signed up on your own and already done some ringing!

OTHER BUSINESS:

We will have our social event Christmas Celebration this December. Kathy R. will host a celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 6 pm. We are calling it Bourbon and Briskit. Club members can bring an appetizer to share and own beverage. Also looking at an opportunity to have a game of some sort where we all throw in $10 and the winner gets to determine where it is donated on behalf of the club. Looking for thoughts and/or other ideas as well.

Profit from our two recent fundraisers:

Roses - Collected $6300 Costs $1114.26 Profit: $5185.74

Bourbon Tasting - Total Profit $8234.78 Paid out to our non-profits: $1800 Net Profit $6434.78

We are still looking for a new Treasurer starting in July 2025. Kathy will be retiring and won't have the same technology availability. If you are interested please let her or any board member know now - you can get a LOT of training in ahead of time.

Also, if someone is interested in doing some PR (facebook and/or web page) we could use your help!

UPCOMING PROGRAMS:

Reminder we began our trial on the new meeting system of two formal meetings per month and one social event. The social event will be planned by two club members as part of the meeting host rotation. Please be flexible and open minded - this is a trial. You will get information each week - you just need to read the bulletin ;-) and mark your calendars! Since the last quarter of the year was not a typical month, will continue trial of this process through the first quarter of 2025 with an evaluation at the end of March.

Greetings

WOW!!! I can’t believe that December is here. This wonderful year of serving you as your Governor is flying by. The coolest part of the experience has been meeting so many of you during club visits or other Rotary events that has reinforced the strongest element of our District, THE MEMBERS!!

The Rotary International theme for December is Disease Prevention. There are thousands of great actions around the world led by Rotarians that contribute to preventing or reducing diseases. Our goal in the polio realm is to totally eliminate the virus from the face of the earth, a daunting but entirely likely outcome during the next few years. Our many projects to facilitate clean water, to deliver effective vaccines, to bring effective sanitation systems to communities, and to make other proven practices a reality should be a source of great pride.

December is a time of the year when many families gather to celebrate holidays or just to be together. I am very thankful that my family makes time with each other a priority and that we will continue that tradition this season. But I am also thankful for you, my Rotary family. I want to wish each of you joy in service not only as part of your Rotary experience but also in every connection to your community. Rotarians everywhere are doing good in the world, often but not always wearing their Magic of Rotary pin. Thank you for being leaders in your community and stars in Rotary!!

District 5960 is continuing to measure the progress we are making towards growing Rotary in order to meet the challenges we face today to ensure a strong and vibrant Rotary going into the future.

Rotary's new Strategic Plan has identified four priorities that focus on membership impact, expansion, and engagement.
