Reminder - Next Meeting, Thursday, April 4 - 7:00 AM at Stevies Cafe!   NO MEETING THIS WEEK (MAR 28)

Good Afternoon!

Hope everyone is enjoying our delayed winter weather.  We had a green Christmas and it's looking like a white Easter!   Special thank you to Monika for sending out the bulletin last week and giving me the details for this weeks info!

IMPORTANT REMINDER: No meeting this Thursday, March 28th due to the Easter holiday.

Last Thursday, Lori Zahrbock with Boys and Girls Club of Barron County joined us to present an update on the club. We heard about their programming, the stats for 2023 and the general service it provides to our community. We also got a glimpse of the blueprints for their new facility - which is going to be a part of the new RL Aquatic Center.  It will include several larger classrooms and meeting places, a kitchen, a gym and walking mezzanine as well as a teen area. Their $7 million capital campaign will be kicking off in May.  We also took a photo for a press release about the donation collected during the CanAM.   Thank you to Lori for joining us.

Also a special thank you to Jason Saffert for running our meeting this day since Dean was attending a funeral.

AOS is STILL ALIVE.  Please come to our next meeting on April 4th - there is the chance to win over $1000!

OLD BUSINESS:
We discussed and voted yes on a $150 donation and "passed the hat" for the gentleman who helped us sell 23 Valentine's Day raffle tickets. With our donations ($150 plus the $241 from pass-the-hat) we were able to provide  $391 direct support for his untilities so they would not be shut off.

April 25th is when Mike VG will be presenting to the noon club regarding the NeGu project.  We will still have a morning meeting that day since some members cannot attend the noon club's meeting.  Any of our club membership is encouraged to support Mike at the noon club's meeting.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
  • Ruby's Pantry - June 15 - please get it on your calendar!!
  • Assist with the application for Club recognition (see below).

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
  1. The public image group sent a press release and photo to the Barron, Chetek, Cumberland, Rice Lake, and Turtle Lake newspapers regarding our $4000 donation to the food shelves.
  2. The recipient for our scholarship to UWEC-BC for FY 2023-24 is Sapphire Lincoln.  She is a non-traditional student from New Auburn who has a young son.  It may be difficult for her to attend an early morning meeting but we plan to extend to her an invitation.
