Barron County Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - MEETING THIS WEEK! Thursday morning, March 19th, 7:00 am  Cabin Coffee.

We will have our morning meeting on Thursday, 3/19.  Kathy R. hosts Kevin Jacobsen from the noon club to talk about the “Sleep in Heavenly Peace” Program.

Last week Ken hosted Rick Heidick from the District to talk to us about the LIFT program.  This is the former Fast for Hope.  The club collected a free will offering and donated our breakfast money to the LIFT program (as we have always done for Fast for Hope).  In total we were able to donate $550 for this international project. It was a great program that explained how it was focused on helping address extreme poverty.  Thank you Rick and Thank you club members!

We had a couple of updates from Mark and Cathy regarding the Shell Lake Companion Club.  There are about 12-14 fully interested participants.  We held a vote that the Sunrise Club wanted to sponsor another companion club.

Clare motioned that we support the companion club.  This was seconded by Kathy R.  Jason called the vote and it was unanimously supported!  The Shell Lake Companion Club will need 12 definite members to start.  We will hear more going forward.

A couple of reminders:

Visioning excercise will happen end of April - date coming soon.

REMINDER - No Meeting This Week! Our next meeting will be Wed. March 25 at Harvest Grill! 7:00 AM

Our RYLA student Abigail Schultz joined the meeting and introduced herself.  What a joy to have her and we discussed how to get more high school students involved in Rotary.  We will have another collection of mobility devices for Africa in April.  We do have quite a few already collected.  Our last hygiene supplies were delivered to the middle/high schools this past week.  Thanks Lisa
