Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting Thurs. Oct. 16, 7:00 AM, at The Jennie O Turkey Store

This week we will be getting a tour of the new Fire Braised Area at the Jennie O Turkey Store.  Breakfast treats will be provided.  Please meet at 7:00 AM at the main entrance of the main building at 34 N. 7th St in Barron.  There is parking up near the building as well in the parking lot to the west.  Jeremy will be taking us to a conference room for meeting/breakfast and garbing up in the protective/sanitary clothing.  No worries - it all goes over what you will currently be wearing.  Although you may want to forgo sandals and/or heels - closed toed shoes are required.  We will then head out about 7:30 to see the new area. If you have never been inside this factory - its fascinating. Hope to see you all there!

We will also want to get an update on Roses - so if you have money or ticket stubs to turn in - please bring them along - I will be there to take them.  In the meantime - KEEP SELLING! THIS IS OUR OTHER MAJOR FUND RAISER FOR DONATIONS. OUR GOAL IS 275 dozen….I think we are at about 105.

Last week we had a great program from Cathy (our Foundation Chair) and Mark on how the Foundation works and the marvelous benefits it provides for our club, district, and all clubs in doing good in the world.  Thank you both for a great presentation.  

A couple of other reminders:

1) Big focus to sell roses so we can reach our goal of 275 dozen.  Rose day is October 23rd.  Please let me know if you plan to attend breakfast at Maxine's at 7:00 am.  

2)  NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We are $1900 away from our goal.  Hoping to surpass so we can pack more jars.

3) We will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Monday Nov. 24th and Monday, Dec.29th. Please put it on your calendar!  Our next Ruby's is Dec. 20th. 

 

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - No Meeting this Week.    But we have our Ribbon Cutting - tomorrow, Oct. 15 at Nezzies!

This week we will have our Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the Chamber at Nezzies at 5pm.   Entrance fee will be a donation of a personal hygiene product for high schoolers.  We will be packing them that evening.  We will be compiling 3 baskets (School Nurse, Social Worker, and Phy Ed office).  We were able to deliver our dictionaries to the schools last week to Cumberland, Turtle Lake and Almena - we really enjoyed this and appreciate being included in this event!  Below - Chris is delivering in Turtle Lake. 

 

EXECUTIVE BUSINESS: 

By-laws were finalized and approved.  

We will be doing a club visioning exercise in Jan. 2026 with support from our Rotary District. This will be a one-night activity and will include the Cumberland Impact Companion Club.  We will also be doing a One Summit event in our part of the district.  Looking for several members to attend! Watch for more info on dates/location.

  • Ruby's Pantry in Cameron - Next event is Dec. 20th.  Please mark your calendars.

October  Social Activity Planners - Tyler K. and Bill K.  Pontoon Ride on Long Lake (Dean's cabin is located at:  W1979 County Hwy B, Sarona.  It is 1 ½ miles past the Long Lake Bait Shop on Hwy B).  This is next Tuesday - Oct. 7th (will do the 9th if weather is an issue) Plan to meet at 4:00 - if you cannot come until later - the boat will come back for you!!  It is byob and please bring an appetizer to pass!

October is recognized as Economic and Community Development Month, focusing on creating sustainable economic opportunities and fostering resilient communities worldwide. World Polio Day, 24 October, is fast approaching. If your club isn’t already planning its World Polio Day event, now is the time to begin. Visit Rotary’s Brand Center for End Polio Now resources such as graphics, videos, photos, public relations templates, and more. Additional materials will be added throughout September and October. After you’ve planned an event, don’t forget to register it.
