Barron County Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - MEETING THIS WEEK! Thursday morning, Feb. 26, 7:00 am  Cabin Coffee.

We will have our morning meeting on Thursday, 2/26.  Bill Kind hosts and we will have Craig Hokanson presenting on his recent trip to Italy to attend the 2026 Winter Olympics.  Chris Fitzgerald on Technology Scams and Safety is unable to attend this week - hopefully we can reschedule his presentation for a future meeting.

Last week we were supposed to have our Club Visioning activity at NWT College. Due to weather issues in the twin cities our presenters were not able to travel.  We will reschedule - watch for more info.

We did have a few members who were able to attend and help out at Rubies Pantry on Saturday - thank you to those who helped out.

Share the Love - Still a few days left in February if you want to participate in Share the Love, our District's Foundation campaign.  It is a great way to earn a Paul Harris award for a donation to the Foundation of $365 or more. (Typically you must donate $1000 to be recognized with a Paul Harris award.) Go to My Rotary to donate electronically. If you need help, Mark Berger will guide you through it.

NEGU
Please sign up to help on March 27. So far only a few people have and we need an absolute minimum of 40 volunteers, with a goal of 100. Ana shared a story about a local student who had childhood leukemia and was extremely grateful for the Joy Jars she received.  Please click on the link below (or the one Mike VG sent you via email) as soon as possible. The main Joy Jar event is from 1:00-3:00, but there are preparations and boxing/packing and clean up shifts as well.  Hope everyone can make it!

Mobile Joy Factory - Jar Stuffing 3-27-26

District News:

Dear Rotary Clubs:    Camp RYLA is coming soon.  It takes place in Hudson from April 24–28, 2026.  Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is more than a camp—it is a life‑shaping leadership experience where high‑potential high school students discover their voice, build confidence, and learn to lead with purpose and integrity. Through Rotary’s sponsorship, students who might never access this opportunity are challenged to grow, serve, and return to their schools and communities as stronger, more compassionate leaders. When your club supports Camp RYLA, you are not simply funding a long weekend of programming—you are investing in the character, capacity, and future leadership of the next generation.

Please consider sponsoring one or two students from your community.  Cost for clubs is $500 per student.  This is one of the most impactful opportunities available.  See details at: www.campryla.org.

The links for directly inputting your information for the various Club Recognition categories are now live. They can be found on the bottom left of this page. Club Recognition | Rotary District 5960 Please take the time to tell everyone what your club is doing and how it is making an impact in improving people's lives.

Best regards,
Glenn
