Barron County Sunrise Rotary Club Update: 

Meeting is Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Cabin Coffee 7:00 AM.  

This week’s host is Mike VanGuilder, joined by guest Jake Myre, who will share stories about his self-designed RV and his adventures visiting national parks. We might even get a chance to tour the RV after the meeting!

Last week our guest was Terry Sharp from the Golden K. He shared information about the club's history and activities. Some of their activities include the Petunia City project, selling Christmas trees, scholarships, and the Music in the Park food truck, which is now their biggest annual fundraiser. Due to low membership, they are seeking additional volunteer help with their activities. 

The Business Event in Cameron will be held on Monday, May 4th at 5:30 PM at Mosaic. Chris shared that all Cameron businesses have been invited to join. Each business will have the chance to talk about what they do. We’ll also give a presentation on our club, membership, and activities. Come if you can, and don’t forget to wear your club apparel!

Joe and Julie Erickson fly to Argentina for the Rotary International Fellowship Exchange this week! In return, a group of Argentinian Rotarians will visit Rice Lake June 4-7th. We will need to host the guests with home stays and plan events for their visit. 

The Children's Safety Fair is coming up Saturday, May 16th, at Northwood Tech's back parking lot. Let Jeremy know if you can volunteer for a shift. 

Fourth quarter dues have been emailed to all members.

We’re collecting mobility-related items for Crutches for Africa. You can bring donations to our meetings anytime in May or drop them off with Tyler at Kilcoyne Memorial Services in Rice Lake. All items will be shipped to Africa at the end of the month.

Our Club visioning is officially scheduled for Thursday, May 21st. More information coming after the May board meeting.

Apr. 30 - Meeting - BJ Williams - Dr. Anshu, a Rotarian and ophthalmologist based in Haiti, has brought eye care to communities in Nepal, Peru, Lebanon, Tanzania, Honduras, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Indonesia, India, and Haiti. She’ll be joining us virtually.
