Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting this week Thursday, Dec. 4 - 7:00 AM Cabin Coffee

This week we will have a report out from our Board meeting this morning.  A couple of things we will need to vote on are donations for:  Northwood Tech and UW-ECBC scholarship donations; Heart Island and Community Connections donations.  We also received another request from the Waseca club but we need more information to review.  We will send them our donation form.

We reviewed our financials and they are in good order.  The board approved adding Monika as an assistant treasurer to cover while Kathy is gone during January and February.  We will also have a couple of areas to talk about regarding how we want to handle foundation donations in the future (either keep the same or look at another model).

Our facebook posting regarding honoring Jim Stoll with a Paul Harris +7 and a Legacy recognition had a record view and share number (over 200+).

Monday, Nov. 24 we served over 97 meals at St. Vinnies - thanks you to Clare, Monika and guest Deb for working on first shift, and Monika, Trudy, KathyR and Ken on second shift.

A couple of other reminders:

1)  We will be collecting new hats/mittens for the Free Clinic and St. Vinnies - please bring to our December meetings!!

2)  We are working Rubies Pantry on Saturday, Dec. 20th - please put it on your calendar!!  7am - 10 am.

3)  We will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Monday, Dec.29th.  (You are also welcome to help out on the 22nd if you have the time.) Please put it on your calendar!

4)  I am in conversation with Salvation Army to get a day that Sunrise Rotary can cover a kettle - will let you know as we will be looking for bell ringers!!

4)  NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We have exceeded our goal of $16,000 and now shooting for $20,000.  Hoping to make it so we can pack more jars.

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting next week - Dec. 10th

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club update for the past week:
Emily Schutte attended a rotary meeting in Washington recently with her father-in-law.  She enjoyed learning about another club and was given this flag .IMG_8349.jpg

We have wrapped up the clothing drive for the elementary kids.  Again the Cumberland community was very generous.

We may have a RYLA candidate for the club - will keep you posted.

Project Santa is busy getting the gifts ready for distribution and we will help shop and repackage where needed.

The gifts for soldiers stationed in Kuwait are on their way.  We sent out 9 packages to soldiers we know - we discussed doing this again in a few months and will try to get more contacts.

We will be partnering with the Boys and Girls Club during the Taste of Cumberland.  Still working on what this will look like.

District News:

Today is Giving Tuesday, a global day of generosity when Rotary members everywhere come together to make a difference. Your active role in Rotary already helps create lasting change. Today, you have an opportunity to amplify that impact.

A special gift to The Rotary Foundation on Giving Tuesday will fund projects that transform lives. Just US$20 can protect up to six children from the lifelong threat of polio. A gift of US$50 can help restore livestock for families rebuilding after natural disasters.

Here’s how you can make an impact today:

  • Donate now to join Rotary members worldwide in giving back.
  • Post on social media about why you are supporting Rotary on Giving Tuesday.
  • Watch and share Rotary’s Giving Tuesday video and see the difference your gift makes.

Thank you for being a valued member of the Rotary Club of Barron County Sunrise. Your service and generosity make a real difference, in your community and around the world. We appreciate all that you do.

Together, we can make this Giving Tuesday a powerful opportunity for Doing Good in the World.

    Sincerely,
    The Rotary Foundation

Respectfully Submitted by:
