REMINDER - Meeting Thurs. July 31 at Jim Stoll's Garage at 7:00 AM
This week is the fifth week of the month (normally used for club assembly). We will be meeting at Jim Stoll's place - 922 Terrace Drive in Rice Lake (south side of the high school - 2 blocks away). We will be going through Rotary Stuff - the supply of flags, past information, etc to see what to keep or eliminate. Bring your own beverage - and President Jason will be bringing donuts.
Last week we did a trial meet at Cabin Coffee, the coffee was great, food was good, just need to get used to listening to go up for your order. Comments were that the room is a little small, but we could re-arrange as needed. Sound was okay - our biggest problem are the consistent side conversations that make it difficult for others to hear the main speaker. (We are ALL guilty of this and really need to make an effort to hold back.) Overall the cost was similar to what we pay at Stevies. Otherwise, it was left to the board to make final decision at their meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 5th.
We did report that dues will be remaining the same and that Kathy will be getting out those dues requests shortly.
A couple of other reminders/updates:
1) Next years Int'l Conference is in Taipei, Tiawan June 13-17th. Jim S. is planning on attending if anyone else has an interest in going.
2) Spirits Event progress is ongoing. Still working on finalizing samples/meal match. The Facebook announcement has been posted - if you receive be sure to share! Kathy sent out a final list of the organizations we are going to list to support: Salvation Army, Boys&Girls Club, Pregnancy Help Center, Benjamin's House, and Pink Ribbon Advocacy. Tickets should be available this or next week so we can start to sell. Some have already received committments - so lets work on good attendance for this great fundraiser!
Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update
Our satellite group - Cumberland Rotary Impact Club will be meeting again on Tues. July 29 (today) so we will have an update for next bulletin. In a note from Lisa - they would like to extend their thanks for the vests! Much appreciated! (See pic below) Their last meeting had 18 attendees!! Awesome! They are continuing their administrative work to get set up within Rotary. Today they will be doing an outdoor fun day with the Girls and Boys Club in Cumberland. It will include a forest hike and nature art, yoga and other outdoor activities. They have also started their school supply drive for the Cumberland Elementary School - it will wrap-up after Rutabaga Fest. Reminder that next week on Wednesday, Aug. 6th, 5:30-7:30 they are hosting a launch party for their club at The Harvest Grill (part of the new hospital-enter patio doors). EXECUTIVE BUSINESS:
Thank you to Jim Stoll (with help from Tyler K.) for stepping up to take on the Treasurer role starting in July 2025. Kathy will stay on for part of the year to help with the transition, especially with the incorporation of the Companion Club.
We held some discussion on the possibility of a two-year presidency.

Rotary International Welcomes President-Elect Francesco Arezzo
We are pleased to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Francesco Arezzo, who was officially named President-elect of Rotary International this afternoon. He will begin his term as RI President on July 1, 2025.
A proud member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy, Arezzo brings with him a remarkable blend of professional, philanthropic, and cultural experience. A practicing orthodontist since 1980, he also owns and operates a farm that produces extra virgin olive oil. He and his wife, Anna Maria, share a deep appreciation for the arts and music. Arezzo founded the Ragusa chapter of Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the National Trust for Italy, to help preserve Italy’s rich artistic and environmental heritage.
A Rotarian since 1988, Arezzo’s extensive service includes roles as Rotary International Director, International Assembly Learning Facilitator, President’s Representative, Assistant Rotary Membership Coordinator, and Chair of the Executive Committee. He also chaired an International Convention Committee and led the editorial board of Rotary Italia in 2009–10.
