Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Thursday is Rose Day!  No meeting at Cabin Coffee.  

This week is Rose Day!  Please be sure to pick up the roses you sold and deliver them!  You can turn your money in to Trudy at the Mall on Thursday when you pick up your flowers - or you can bring them to our next meeting on Oct. 30th.  Be sure to remind those people who purchased from you and are going to pick up their own, to pick them up on Thursday - there are no other days for pick up!  Pick up will be all day Thursday from 8 am - approximately 4:30 pm.  If you plan to start first thing in the morning, you are welcome to join us for breakfast at Maxine's at 7:00 AM.

Last week we met at the Jennie-O Turkey Store and received a tour of the new Fire Braised Area.  It was really interesting!  We also learned a bit about the company and how they are functioning today in Barron Co. Thank you Jeremy - it was a fun and educational meeting!!

 

A couple of other reminders:

1) Big focus to sell roses so we can reach our goal of 275 dozen.  Rose day is this Thursday, October 23rd.  Please let me know if you plan to attend breakfast at Maxine's at 7:00 am.  

2)  Kathy sent out 2nd Qtr Dues - please take care of them at your earliest convenience.  Remember the foundation!  Every donation matters.   

3)  NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We are $1900 away from our goal.  Hoping to surpass so we can pack more jars.

4) We will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Monday Nov. 24th and Monday, Dec.29th. Please put it on your calendar!  Our next Ruby's is Dec. 20th. 

 

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting this Week at Peter & Annies at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd.  

Last week we had our Ribbon Cutting ceremony for the Chamber at Nezzies at 5pm. We were able to do a ribbon cutting with the Chamber as our club is a Chamber member (pic to be in the upcoming issue of the Cumberland Advocate).  We also collected hygiene products for the Cumberland Middle and High Schools, the response was overwhelming and amazing!!  We have delivered hygiene products to the counselor and nurse's office.  At our meeting this week, we will discuss what other venues could benefit from Cumberland's generosity.  Currently, all of the hygiene products are being stored in the basement at one of our member's business - Jacobsen's Eye Care along with the donations we've collected for crutches for Africa.  We also helped out with Project Santa this past week to scope out how our group could assist.  At this week's meeting, we will discuss with a Project Santa's organizer how we can help over the next couple of months.  

 

EXECUTIVE BUSINESS: 

By-laws were finalized and approved.  

We will be doing a club visioning exercise in Jan. 2026 with support from our Rotary District. This will be a one-night activity and will include the Cumberland Impact Companion Club.  We will also be doing a One Summit event in our part of the district.  Looking for several members to attend! Watch for more info on dates/location.
