Meeting Notification - MONDAY September 12, 2022 7:00 AM
Hi Folks, well the topic of our meeting location and place continues to provide some challenges. Here is our most recent update.
1. There were 11 of us at our meeting on Tuesday at Blueberry Line in Barron. At this meeting we talked about the options that were presented to us by the new management of Norske. They had offered Monday mornings (same menu options as we currently have) or Thursday mornings (possible single option breakfast options). As a group we had some good discussion on pros, cons, and other ideas. We left this meeting agreeing to meet at Norske on Thursday's (Mondays is really not a good option for working members as well as those who travel on the weekends.).
2. We also came up with a list of other options to check out. We do not know if these locations are willing to work with us but several of us are going to check them out.
Cabin Coffee Back Room
Seasons Cafe in Barron (seats 25) other groups use it but not sure of a consistent availability or cost yet.
Mosaic Telecom Meeting Room (ample seating, all electronics already there, catering provided by Cameron House) Need to double check dates/catering cost.
Stevies Restaurant in RL - Men's Club meets there on Tuesday Mornings - would look at a Thursday morning option.
So these are being checked out at this time.
3. After contacting Norske on our decision, they then indicated that Thursday really doesn't work for them, and they would rather we meet on Mondays. With the short notice, we said yes for the month of September. This will give us time to check out our other options and find something that the group will find acceptable. So for the present time, we will meet at Norske on Monday's on Sept. 12, 19, and 26.
4. On Monday, September 12 we will have a work day to put labels in our dictionaries. Ken P. will be bringing the dictionaries along with school lists, Kathy R. will bring the labels. We would like as many members that are able to attend. Delivery Day will be Thursday, September 15th. Please contact Ken if you are able to deliver - he is coordinating this date with each of the schools.
5. On a final note - given the challenges we have been presented with this change - several members commented on how pleasant it has been to work with our group in looking at options and what will work best. People have been very positive in their discussions. Some groups do not survive situations like this and we do not want to be one of those statistics. So hang in there folks, please share your thoughts and any other ideas you may have as we work towards a solution that will work best for all of us.

October 4th was going to be our membership informational meeting. This is postponed indefinitely until we have a permanent location.
The purpose of this meeting is to invite those interested in learning about Rotary. It is an opportunity to showcase what we are all about and increase our membership.
To help with recruitment, we are offering a provisional membership for 3 months (lower cost) so potential members can check us out before committing to a full membership. Please continue to reach out to the people Don Drost helped us to identify and any others you think might be interested.
Next Board meeting Monday, Sept. 19 - time and place TBD
Rose Day 2022 is Oct. 27. Roses will be $20 per dozen, and you will need to deliver your own roses. We will coordinate within our club to help each other make deliveries, or you can have your buyer pick up their roses at Cedar Mall on Thursday, October 27. More info, posters, and collection envelopes to come!
