Meeting this week - Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, at Cabin Coffee 7:00 AM
This week we will be having a board report out. If we have time our groups can also start to set some plans for the upcoming year. A couple of things we will be discussing:
Financials - we are sitting really well. Need to pay our polio plus contribution, our rose payments, and then the next half year of dues to RI.
Donation requests - we have a request for a donation of $100 to Pink Ribbon for the Curl for a Cure event and the support to our Shell Lake Companion Club for their aprons ($478.72). Support for Summer youth Exchange $750.
Service Projects - Salvation Army Bell Ringing coming soon, Community Connections Soup meal in 2027, Next Vinnies Nov. 30th. Valentines Raffle for Food Banks.
Last week we completed our Rose Sales and Bourbon Tasting Accounting. There are just a couple people who have rose money left to turn in so please do so.
Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:
REMINDER - No Meeting this week - Next Meeting Wednesday Nov. 11, 7:00 AM at the Harvest Grill
Several of us met with the high school last week to discuss next steps in our collaboration. They have several service projects coming up including Stockings for Soldiers and Project Santa, both of which we will try to participate in. Since they already have well supported service projects, we have decided to focus on leadership skills and will be doing Lunch and Learns (name to be determined). We will plan to do on a Wednesday during their 2 lunch hours. Our first step will be to present to the teachers so we have their support. The topics they were interested in were application skills and communication skills. We are looking at the RYLA information and will try to leverage/include that as well. We met last week and shared some fun from the bourbon tasting. We also discussed service project ideas for November (looking at supporting meals for Thanksgiving), more to come on that. No meeting this week and our next meeting will be Nov. 11th.

Shell Lake Companion Club Update:
REMINDER - Gathering this week Wed. Oct. 28th 5:30 pm at the Shell Lake Lodge
We gathered on October 28th. Members shared the fun experiences with the Bourbon event from attending to helping make the centerpieces. Also shared the positive feedback from our Rose sales/delivery. Placing roses in many of our City Hall, hospital, school and other commercial sites was very well received. We included a little write up on Rotary and working with supporting the community. Went very well and a good way to plant the seed regarding rotary. We met with the SL Arts Center and are looking at a couple of future events for collaboration. Would like to include the school as well. Will be discussing a couple ideas from events we have seen this past month. Group is looking forward to our Area 14 event coming up on Dec. 2. A time to socialize and share club ideas from Rice Lake, Barron County Sunrise, Hayward Area , Woodland Lakes Cumberland Impact and Shell Lake area clubs. Let’s make it a great turnout! Next gathering is Nov. 11.
