Reminding everyone that we have our meeting this Thursday, July 25th at Stevies Cafe. Several important topics will be discussed.
1.   Mark and Cathy will be presenting the ByLaws Update/Review.  I will be sending out a copy of a draft of these bylaws under a separate email - please take some time to review them so you can provide some feedback.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please send Mark or Cathy a note on your thoughts if you think something should be addressed.
2.  Just as important, BJ will be presenting his plan for the next Rotary year. He has some really good ideas so again, please try to attend so you can provide some feedback.
3. Following the meeting, the group that is working on the Bourbon Tasting Event will be getting together.  They are looking for any additional members who have an interesting in helping to plan this awesome activity.  Please feel free to join them following our meeting.

Last week we held our Social Event at the Kids from Wisconsin concert.  I heard that it was a great show.

The nomination period for selecting District 5960’s District Governor for the 2028-2029 Rotary year is now open for your consideration! These last four years have been an adventure of a lifetime.
If you are now in a position allowing more time for Rotary, consider applying.
If your love and passion for the ideals of Rotary are pushing you, consider applying.
OR
If you know a past club president who would make a great district governor, consider encouraging him/her to apply.

Training is provided. You are part of a team. It is fun, overwhelming, challenging, exciting, and well worth the effort.

What are the basic qualifications?

1.     To have been a Rotary Club President for an entire year.

2.     Be a member in good standing, and

3.     Have an interest in sharing your passion for Rotary with fellow Rotarians

Choosing to apply to be district governor was not easy, but I am totally grateful I did. Over the years, my understanding and appreciation of Rotary grew when I attended district events.  Then I was lucky to serve as club president and attended my 1st Rotary International convention. The experience of seeing the bigger picture of Rotary and serving as president left me yearning to do more, so I joined district teams. Never thought about being a District Governor until a letter announcing the application period arrived. It was not the first letter I received, but it is the first one I read seriously. I talked it over with my spouse and my club. However, I did not submit the application until 30 minutes before the deadline. It was the best Rotary decision I ever made.

It is a big decision. If you have questions, contact me. 507-202-4618.
Or attend a 30-minute Q&A Zoom call with a couple of past district governors.
