Reminding you that we have our meeting this Thursday, December 22 at 7:00 AM at Stevies Cafe. Hopefully the weather will cooperate! We will be having our Holiday Celebration meeting - fun, games, and prizes!
We had an awesome group help out with Ruby's Pantry this past Saturday. It was a great turnout of members with their spouses. They definitely needed our help. We filled the trunks and truck beds of 182 vehicles and handed out over 28,000 pounds of food. It was evident that this is a necessary project - many of us will be doing this again. Watch for future opportunities from our club.
Reminder - We have bell ringers this week as well - you should receive a reminder email from Salvation Army giving you your location and information. Thanks to all who are ringing - whether set up through me or on your own. It is much appreciated!

Thank you to Dean for setting up his staff at the Barron Location for ringing and Jeremy (and Ken) and Kathy R for setting up your own shifts.
- Hat/Mitten Donation - If you didn't get a chance to - you can still bring your hats/mittens to our meeting. Clare can still use them for the Free Clinic distribution.
- Food Pantry Donation - We did agree as a club to donate $500 to the county food pantries. We will be making our donations at the beginning of January.
- Valentines Raffle - Tickets are printed and will be available soon!
- Membership Information Meeting - Jan. 19 - please start putting together your list of invitees (send the names to Don so we have an idea of the number of attendees) Another activity everyone should do is to review the link below for information on how one club was able to increase their membership and keep their current members as well. Growing Membership via Service – If you haven’t heard Alex Johnson speak, you have missed out. The district membership team had him at their monthly meeting in November and he was once again fantastic. You missed it???? That’s a shame. However, you have two more opportunities. You can
click here and see the tape session. Or you can sign up for the Tri-District Conference and see him live and in person at Madden’s Resort. Registration for the event should be up and running within 1-2 weeks.
The purpose of our membership meeting is to invite those interested in learning about Rotary. It is an opportunity to showcase what we are all about and increase our membership.
To help with recruitment, we are offering a provisional membership for 3 months (lower cost) so potential members can check us out before committing to a full membership. Please continue to reach out to the people Don Drost helped us to identify and any others you think might be interested.

MUST READS/TO DOS
1. Succession – The next short, sweet, and sensational training for PEs immediately following the mid-term. January 7th – it will be a working lunch and your PE will be out to still enjoy the afternoon. There are currently clubs without a PE listed in Rotary Central. Getting going, you don’t want to be the last one.
2. Register for Mid-term – If you haven’t done this already, get going. It’s time. Click the button. It will be fact and fun filled. You don’t want to miss out. Please encourage your club members to attend as well. Cost? It’s free. Nothing better than that.
3. Pass on your Goals – The next PE training is all about setting goals. Your PE will be setting their 2023-24 goals on Jan 7th. To do this, they need to know what your goals were for membership and foundation. What you say? I was supposed to have goals? CRAZY. Like everything thing else in life, the key is to keep turning the wheel and getting a little bit better every year. So yes, Patricia McCleese the current DGE is turning the wheel and making sure that clubs have goals actually listed in Rotary Central. So please pass on your current goals to your PE prior to the mid-term. Why wait? Send them an email with the info right now.
4. Grants – Does your club want to obtain a district or global grant for the year 2023-24? If so, someone from your club MUST attend a Grant Management Seminar. If they want to go for a global grant then someone must also attend a Global Grant Seminar. This requirement is not waived. The Grant Team does not hold extra sessions for those who don’t show up. My recommendation, send someone. It’s great information and then you are set if suddenly it seems like a good idea. Here are the dates. They are all via zoom.

1. Deano Pape - Deano Pape is president of Austin Rotary and has a talk that he is happy to deliver to area Rotary clubs called The 100 Hour Day: Welcome to Your Cell phone. He does an exercise with the audience that measures their technology consumption and discusses the effects of our social media and cellphone engagement. He also tailors his talk to specific requests, such as effects on our personal relationships, productivity in the workplace, education, political polarization, and/or post-lockdown uses of technology and where we go from here. 2. Annie Nolte-Henning - Annie is Director of the Americas for Alight (previously the American Refugee Committee) - she is knowledgeable and inspiring. If she can't come and talk, she has a staff that can. Very cool. Give her a ring 402.297.2368
3. Bill Goodwin - This one comes to use via our own Kathy Hughitt. She has heard Bill speak on leadership but states that he is capable of speaking on multiple topics. Kathy says he is very engaging. Bill is also one of our Lakeville Rotarian.
