Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - NO MEETINGS  Dec. 25 and Jan 1 - We will meet again on Jan. 8, 2026 at Cabin Coffee 7:00 AM.  (Board Meeting Report Out)

This past week we had our Christmas celebration at Lehman's on Thursday evening. It was a great time socializing, dining and sharing laughs over the games and gifts.  Thank you to Ana, Mike VG, and Monika for planning a wonderful evening!!

We also had a great club turnout for our help at Rubies Pantry on Dec. 20th. Thank you to all who helped out.  We found out that they will need extra help on February 21 as the host church Living Waters will have a large group gone helping dig wells for water in Equador(?).  Our regular time would be March 21, but maybe some of you want to help out in Feb. as well.

Last big reminder that we will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Mondays, Dec. 22 and 29th.  Please put it on your calendar to help out in any amount of time possible between 8:30-1:30.   So far we have Dec. 22  (8:30 shift - Monika and Kathy R. and Clare   10:30 shift - Monika, Dean and Lori Springer) Dec. 29  (8:30 shift - Monika and Kathy R    10:30 shift - Monika, Dean and Lori and Trudy) We can still use some help!

NEGU reminder March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We have exceeded our goal of $16,000 and now shooting for $20,000.  Hoping to make it so we can pack more jars.

District News:

There is still time to register for the Midterm on January 3. (DACdb) As Kathy noted in a recent message, issues at the facility forced us to move the agenda back by 30 minutes. Please plan on arriving around 8:30. Though the program does not begin until 9:15, the House of Friendship starts at 8:30. You will not want to miss that since there will be 17 projects and organizations on display for you to learn more about.

As I mentioned during my Official Visits, five Rotary Districts in the upper Midwest, including 5960, have come together to encourage clubs to do water-related projects. Your efforts will have positive impacts on the environment and your local communities. To go the next step, we want you to share what you are doing with our District Team. The impact, across the five Districts, will be pulled together and used to foster Rotary's public image. Help us share the message of the good work that you are doing. More information can be found at  https://www.rotary5960.org/unite-for-water/

I hope that you have a Merry Christmas with your family and friends.

Happy Holidays!
Glenn
