Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting Thurs. Sept. 18th, 7:00 AM, AT REINDEER HILL (former Westphal Roofing building on SS between Rice Lake and Cameron - 1615 20 7/16 St. Cameron)

This week we will be meeting at the Reindeer Hill facility owned by former member Deanna Westphal.  She will be sharing info about the new business venture coming to this site.  There will be donuts and coffee available.  This is at the former Westphal Roofing business (located next door to the Ambulance garage) on SS just south of Rice Lake.

Last  week Trudy hosted and Don Drost shared information from his trip to the Panama Canal.  It was really interesting to learn about the history and see some pictures.   Also some cool information on the wildlife in that area. Thanks Don for a great presentation!

NEGU update!  Looking at the dates of March 20 or 27 for the Joy Jar packing event.  We are $1900 away from our goal.  Hoping to surpass so we can pack more jars.

Ken will be working to re-schedule Dictionary deliveries.  They have not arrived yet.  Stay posted for new dates.

We will be doing our Valentines Raffle another year - will continue with the Food Pantries as where we will donate our funds that are raised.

A member suggested we look at the Barron Co. Historical Museum as a future recipient of donations for their new visitor center.  We had a meeting there last winter and received info on this project.  The board will review at their next meeting.

Welcome new member Chris Fitzgerald!  Glad to have you join us representing Mosaic and Cameron.

This is our final push for selling Spirits and Bourbon Tasting Event Tickets! We will need to report preliminary numbers on Thursday.

A couple of other reminders:

1) Spirits Event tickets need to be sold!! This event will support the Salvation Army, Boys&Girls Club, Pregnancy Help Center, Benjamin's House, and Pink Ribbon Advocacy. Tickets are available through Kathy.  Please let Kathy know of any tickets you already have sold.  Also we will need all club members to help with serving the samples and the food.

2)  Rubies Pantry volunteering is this Sat. Sept. 20th!  Please let me know if you are planning to attend.  Will need to get vests from Jim.

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - No Meeting this week.

Club members participated in their first clean-up of their Adopt-A-Highway section (Hwy 63 between the American Legion Club and Ace Hardware). We have connected with the NOW (nutrition on weekends) program and will be helping with their needs.   For the Crutches for Africa, we will be collecting during the business day at Jacobsens Eye Care and then every Saturday morning in October at the Cumberland Healthcare clinic.  Don Johnson’s has offered to haul what we collect to the Stillwater collection site.

Our group will also be supporting the dictionary project with delivering dictionaries to third grade classes in Cumberland and Turtle Lake when dictionaries arrive.

EXECUTIVE BUSINESS:

By-laws were finalized at Sept. 2 Board meeting and Jason sent them to the club members to review.  Please take time to review, let Jason know if you have any comments.  Jason will let us know for the time to approve.

We will be doing a club visioning exercise in Jan/Feb with support from our Rotary District. This will be a one-night activity.  Watch for more info.
