Meeting Reminder, July 13, 2023 7:00 AM Stevies Cafe
Good Morning!
Sending you a reminder that we have a meeting, tomorrow, Thursday, at 7:00 am at Stevies Cafe. Ana hosts and she will be giving a program on Mental Health which is one of our Rotary International initiatives. RI President, Gordon McInnaly, has indicated that RI would like to prioritize projects that support mental health this next Rotary year.
Last week we formally transfered the gavel to our 2023-24 President, Dean Springer. This is our line-up for the next Rotary year. There is still an opportunity for our Co-President Elect to start in January. Please seriously consider taking this opportunity to be more involved. This is a great way to share leadership and learn more about Rotary.

Jeremy brought forward a request for supporting the newly formed Trap Club in the Prairie Farm School District. This will be brought to the board for discussion. Sounds like a good way to support another community in the county. The board will be meeting on Monday, July 17, 5:30 at Buck and Beams.
Our social fun team planners have scheduled the first Rotary activity. Thursday, August 31 Social event at either Perlicks or Enchanted Barn - more info on that but mark it on your calendar!
Last week I told you I was contacted by Kathy Wellsandt, a member of the noon club, with an idea on trying to help some of the businesses in the downtown area of Rice Lake. With the construction going on the business flow is very low. One business shared that they had a total sales of $10 on one day. Her idea was to do a social kind of like flash mob to hit some of the stores...maybe purchase gift certificates or start your holiday shopping early....anything to help them out a bit and then follow with a social gathering with the noon club at one of the downtown establishments. This has been scheduled for tomorrow!! Thursday, July 12 - stop on down town whenever you are able. Just a way to help our local businesses. We may want to consider doing something similar in each town in the county? Just a thought....not sure if I can afford that....lol.

My name is Patricia McCleese, District Governor, 2023-2024. I wanted to welcome you to a Happy New Rotary Year!
I am very excited about this year. I am sure this will be the best year ever. We are "Hitting the Ground Running" with big plans of ways to support clubs.
What are the plans? If you like visuals, watch the fast-paced video. I tried not to breathe so I could talk faster. Video Link:

If you prefer to read, here is the speech.
I can't wait to learn about your club's big plans. I am honored to join you this year as we turn the Rotary wheel forward - always pushing forward.
Thank you for your service.
