Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting Thurs. Sept. 25th, 7:00 AM, at Cabin Coffee

This week we will be finalizing details for our Spirits and Bourbon Tasting event that will be held later that evening.  Dean has shared:

We will be meeting around 3:00 this Wednesday (that's tomorrow!) afternoon to set up tables. Any help is appreciated. Then helpers/club members meet at 5:00 on Thursday for assignment of tasks and a refresher on table service from Catherine and Adventures.
I have two other requests:
1) We have three very nice baskets being assembled for the silent auction with donated bottles of spirits. I have 4 more bottles that would look very nice if dressed up in a basket or gift bag. Three bourbons and one Cabernet. If anyone would like to take a bottle and put together a presentation it would be greatly appreciated.
2) I am currently going to personally present two of the spirits that evening. If someone who has a love of wine would like to present our wine that evening I would gladly pass along that presentation. I will help or even write the narrative with the information I have. I just think it would be classier to have a different presenter for each spirit. It will be the second one presented that evening, pairing with the salad.

Feel free to wear your Rotary attire that evening, it identifies us as members. We will all be given time to sit and eat each of the four courses after we serve them. It is a fund raiser, but we need to enjoy the evening too.

Last week we met at the Reindeer Hill facility owned by former member Deanna Westphal.  She shared info about the two new business ventures: 6 4 Accord and Reindeer Hill.  It looks like a unique destination site for all ages. Really interesting set-up.

NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We are $1900 away from our goal.  Hoping to surpass so we can pack more jars.

Ken will be working to re-schedule Dictionary deliveries.  They have not arrived yet.  Stay posted for new dates.

A couple of other reminders:

1) Spirits Event this Thursday!  Help is needed on Wednesday for set up at 3:00 - be there on Thursday around 5:00!  This event will support the Salvation Army, Boys&Girls Club, Pregnancy Help Center, Benjamin's House, and Pink Ribbon Advocacy.

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting this week at Peter and Annies on Wed. 9/24 at 7:00 AM

We will be working on how we can help the NOW (nutrition on weekends - backpacks) program in Cumberland.  Through a generous donation, one of our members was able to help the program with an emergency need for a new freezer.  We have also been asked to help with back up clothes for 4K and Kindergarten kids.  We will be ready to distribute dictionaries to Cumberland and Turtle Lake schools, once they arrive.

EXECUTIVE BUSINESS:

By-laws were finalized at Sept. 2 Board meeting and Jason sent them to the club members to review.  Please take time to review, let Jason know if you have any comments this next week - we will be doing our final approval.

We will be doing a club visioning exercise in Jan/Feb with support from our Rotary District. This will be a one-night activity.  Watch for more info.
