Sunrise Rotary Club Update:

REMINDER - Meeting at Lehmans, Thursday, Nov. 20th, 5:30 pm  (There is NO MORNING MEETING AT CABIN COFFEE THIS THURSDAY!)

This week we will be having a dinner meeting at Lehman's at 5:30 pm for a special meeting/social event. No morning meeting!  Rotary members meals will be covered by the club.  Your spouse/significant other is also welcome but you will need to pay for their meal as well as any drinks you have.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!!

Here is a recap of the last two weeks:  

Nov. 6th - club approved donations for the following organizations:  Pink Ribbon Advocacy $100 and Empty Bowls $250 (motion by Ana, seconded by Tyler - unanimously approved).  Pioneer Village $500 (motion by Don, seconded by Bill, unanimously approved).  Plan for Mark Dobberfuhl to attend meeting next week and we will issue a check to him.  

NEGU update - Noon club committed $2000, we are at goal ($16,000) and working to the next level ($20,000)  Mark will be presenting to District Board in January.  

Nov. 13 Meeting - Mark Dobberfuhl attended and gave us an update of where the village is in constructing their new visitor center.  We presented our donation.   

Nov. 13 - One Summitt event was attended by members of the Hayward, RL Noon Club and Sunrise Club along with our DG Glenn Bowers and his wife, Pam as well as Lonny Storm DG elect2 who was our facilitator for the activity. Great participation and sharing of ideas for supporting and completing one goal for the next Rotary year.  Plus our very own Cathy Berger received a Paul Harris presented to her from our DG Glenn Bowers.  A wonderful Rotary eventing!!

A couple of other reminders:

1) Kathy sent out 2nd Qtr Dues - please take care of them at your earliest convenience.  Remember the foundation!  Every donation matters.   

2)  We will be serving at St. Vinnie's on Monday Nov. 24th and Monday, Dec.29th.  (You are also welcome to help out on the 22nd if you have the time.) Please put it on your calendar!  Our next Ruby's Pantry Support is Saturday, Dec. 20th.   We are also looking for bell ringers!! Let me know your time/date preferences. 

4)  NEGU update! March 27 is our date for the Joy Jar packing event to be held at Bethany Lutheran Church.  We have exceeded our goal of $16,000 and now shooting for $20,000.  Hoping to make it so we can pack more jars.

 

Cumberland Rotary Impact Club Update:

REMINDER - No Meeting this Week  (Next Meeting will be Nov. 26)

No meeting this week as we meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays.  At our last meeting on 11/12 we had Lori Zahrbock and Josh Turner talk with the group about Taste of Cumberland, an annual fundraiser held in June, on which we are thinking of partnering with the Boys and Girls Club.  The clothing drive for the elementary school kicked off Saturday with the pickups at the library.  Also worked to put together Spirit Bags and are working with Project Santa in the area. 

EXECUTIVE BUSINESS: 

We will be doing a club visioning exercise in Jan. 2026 with support from our Rotary District. This will be a one-night activity and will include the Cumberland Impact Companion Club.

 
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:  
  • St. Vinnies Meal Prep - Monday, November 24th.
  • Ruby's Pantry in Cameron - Next event is Dec. 20th.  Please mark your calendars.
  • St. Vinnies Meal Prep - Monday, Dec. 29th. (also Dec. 22 if you can help)
