This week we will be getting a more formal presentation of Joe and Julie Ericksons friendship exchange to Argentina. We got a sneak preview this past week as we discussed our options hosting them in June. Cathy B. hosts.
Last week We discussed a potential scheduled for the Argentinians Friendship exchange June 4-7th. Tentative activities include a farm visit, Barron Co. Farm breakfast, Enchanted Barn, 6 Four Accord, business visits (Toboggan Run Dental, Nature's Edge, a Vet. Clinic), Lehmans, and Hayward Visit day. All host families are identified, but would like one for a back up. Also discussed gift options.
We reviewed the Business Event in Cameron that was held on Monday, May 4th at 5:30 PM at Mosaic. We had two business representatives show up. Jessica with Stella-Jones (the telephone pole company in Cameron) and John, the guy who is doing a lot of the videography work at the Pioneer village. Both shared that they may potentially be interested in joining our club. Talked about options of doing something similar in the fall. Thank you Don and Chris and Mosaic for organizing and hosting a very nice gathering.
Reminder - The Shell Lake Companion Club - is hosting their kickoff and ribbon cutting event. The group has submitted their paperwork and has 10 founding members planning to join our club. This is exciting news! Here is a pic of the group and announcement for their event. Future newsletters will include a section for their information.
The Children's Safety Fair is coming up Saturday, May 16th, at Northwood Tech's back parking lot. Let Jeremy know if you can volunteer for a shift.
We’re collecting mobility-related items for Crutches for Africa. You can bring donations to our meetings anytime in May or drop them off with Tyler at Kilcoyne Memorial Services in Rice Lake. All items will be shipped to Africa at the end of the month. We are also accepting donations of diapers and/or detergent which we will split between the Cumberland Impact group and St. Vinnies. Clare shared a poster the Cumberland Impact group has for this activity.

REMINDER - Meeting/Social Event is Wednesday, May 13th, 5:30 pm at Nezzies. All are welcome.
This week has been a busy one. We helped set up for the community connections event on Wednesday. We got our first raffle tickets printed (thank you for letting us use your raffle license number) for the Cumberland Shopping Spree Raffle to benefit the Boys and Girls Club. On Friday we met with high school students to wrap up their diaper and detergent drive and to work together on creating a structure for our future collaboration on service projects and leadership skills. We will be working together on projects throughout the summer. We continue to promote Crutches for Africa.
On 5/13 we will wrap up the community Diaper and Detergent Drive at Nezzy's at a social event and 1 year celebration! All are welcome, we are hoping to recruit new members. Thanks, Lisa
EXECUTIVE BUSINESS:
Our Club visioning is officially scheduled for Thursday, May 21st. Starts at 5:30 pm at Northwood Tech. Really would like representation from all Sunrise Rotary, including both companion clubs. There will be pizza - if you can get there a bit earlier to eat, then we can start right at 5:30.
Reminder that the Sunrise board meeting was pushed to Tuesday, May 19th. 7:30 am at Johnson Bank. Jason sent out a video link if you prefer to attend that way. This will cover both May and June.
